Who We Are

Arun has been looking after children for most of his life. He is the founder of Nectar and lives full-time at Nectar in Somasipadi. Arun is regarded as the 'wise' person of the village. He assists and advises families in many different ways. The parents of the children, who stay with Arun, are relieved of the economic burden children can bring.

Marina is a close friend of Arun. She brought alive the website and assists with fundraising in Hamburg/ Germany. Marina has visited India and Nectar twice.

Iyappan has been a government contract worker for over 10 years in the social service section. After meeting with Arun he became interested in our project. He looks after the financial side of Nectar and provides us with the necessities to keep on running. For those visiting Nectar, he provides the transport.

Sargunam is our cook. The meals he cooks for 30 people are most appetizing. Arun is also a chef and very particular about food. Sargunam is studying Teacher Training. At age 25 he is a steadying adult influence for our hoard of teenagers.

Muthu from Tamil Nadu, living and working in Hamburg/ Germany is spreading out the idea of Nectar to find more contributers.

Vijay is involved with cultural activities. He is from Mysore. It is hoped that something like Nectar will operate in the outskirts of Mysore. Amongst the many roles Vijay plays, he is a French language teacher and a classical musician.

Chidu is from Mysore, where another Nectar is to take place. He works as an environmental engineer.
