Welcome to Nectar
We are situated in the southern part of India in a village called Somasipadi in the state of Tamil Nadu. The main centre – Tiruvannamalai - is about 8-kilometres away from our home, the same road taking you to Gingee. We are about a 3-hour drive from Chennai.
Spontaneously we combusted – us kids from Somasipadi and other parts of the Tiruvannamalai District came to stay at Nectar – Arun and Frances’ home. Frances and Arun are so welcoming.
Life at our families’ homes can involve - not enough food, never enough money and parents suffering the indignities of ongoing poverty, drinking too much with mental health and other problems, all over the place.
They welcomed us, as we are welcoming you. Their generosity, we hope will inspire the same. We can’t get by without your kindness.
We are official – a non-profit organization – a legal Trust established in 2007. The focus of this Trust is to provide for our education.
Here at Nectar-Kids we have a safe roof over our heads, we learn to cook good quality food, school fees and extra-tuition is provided, clothing is bought for us, medical needs are met and with your help our education will continue. Really and truly our future educational opportunities depend on you.
And, the very best thing, some say unique, is that we are able to maintain relationships with our families. All we have to do is tell any elders that we will be spending time with our families and how many hours, or, days. They just want to know where we might be.
